Kellie McLean, Registered Dietician
Kellie McLean, MPH, RD, CDCES, CDN is a registered dietitian and adjunct professor with a background in nutrition counseling and type 2 diabetes management. Kellie holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of Vermont and a second degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, received simultaneously with her master’s degree in Public Health Nutrition from Hunter College (City University of New York).
Kellie’s background as a dietitian began in the Bronx, NY where she counseled individuals of all ages for weight and diabetes management. She then transitioned into the position of clinical nutrition consultant and manager for various facilities throughout the Greater New York City area. She is currently a PhD student and adjunct professor at New York University; her research has focused on cultural components of type 2 diabetes management and effective behavior change strategies.
Kellie brings a strong research background to the organizations she serves and uses an individualized approach with her clients. Her current research includes: nutritional recommendations for autoimmune disorders, gut health, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and hormonal changes affecting weight status. She is also an avid runner and a strong advocate for physical activity of all types. Kellie’s mission is to assist others in achieving their health goals while incorporating a total wellness approach.
